Europe’s food supply is among the safest in the world. Europeans today enjoy a plentiful supply of fresh fruits and vegetables all year round thanks to modern solutions that support productive, competitive and sustainable agriculture. The majority of foodstuffs do not contain any measurable pesticide residues. Where residues remain following application, they are strictly regulated and assessed.
The Annual Report on Pesticide Residues from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) see the testing of tens of thousands of food samples and repeatedly show that the vast majority of food products are compliant with strict trading standards under which cut-off points are set well within acceptable safety levels.
ECPA considers these excellent results a testament to the high-level skill of pesticide users and the continued joint effort made by farmers and the crop protection industry in sharing and implementing best practices.
